The Italian Genealogical Society of America was founded in 1994 by several genealogists across the U.S., working together to promote Italian genealogy through research, writing, lecturing and instruction.
The Society strives to promote work in these areas, offer access to genealogical materials on the civil and parochial levels, encourage preservation of genealogical and historical materials, foster a greater awareness and positive action in the field of Italian genealogy, in both America and Italy.
Members across the country assist each other with research interests in person, at meetings and via the newsletter and correspondence.
